FF Battle and FR Shootout Prep

Yuta, Kristian, and myself spent the weekend making last minute modifications and repairs to our cars for the closely approaching FF Battle and FR Shootout.  The range of our projects were as broad as it gets, with Kristian having to perform a last minute engine swap, to Yuta making custom aero fenders.

A little over a week ago Kristian’s EK developed rod knock.  With hopes for the best Kristian tore the engine down, only to find a rod bearing had worn to almost nothing and a cracked block.  His luck made a turn for the better when a friend loaned him an engine just in time to make FF Battle and the next round of Redline Time Attack.  Kristian with help of Yuta worked tirelessly  to prepare, install, and tune the new engine.  It was an impressive feat considering they did it in only two very long days.

While Kristian and Yuta were working at SP Engineering, I was at Avus Autosport working on a few things.  I made the final checks & repairs on the M3, and worked on some front aero additions.

FF Battle has the dyno portion of the competition tomorrow.  Thursday brings the Attack for both FR Shootout and FF Battle.  The cars are as finished as they’re going to be.  So the only thing left is to drive our best.
